Wind and tornado loads to ASCE/SEI 7-22 Chapters 26 through 30 and Chapter 32 — the velocity pressure qz, the pressures on the main wind force-resisting system by the Directional Procedure, and the pressures on components and cladding, each with its Chapter 32 tornado counterpart. The basic wind speed V and the tornado speed VT are yours: both are read off the raster maps — Figures 26.5-1A through 26.5-1D, and Figures 32.5-1A-H and 32.5-2A-H by Risk Category and effective plan area — and are not in the code’s text layer, so this page carries no built-in speed and digitises no figure. Almost every other parameter is optional: leave a field blank and the engine of record refuses the run with the clause that refuses it if the procedure actually needs it, rather than this card inventing a rule the standard does not have. Choose the procedure first — it decides which of the parameters below matter. Press Compute the wind load when the card is complete; anything malformed opens a pop-up naming it, and an input that is well-formed but outside the procedure is refused with its clause.
The procedure (§26.1.2)
The hazard — both speeds are read off the maps and are yours
The exposure and the geometry
The factors — leave blank to take the code default
Conditions the engine of record refuses rather than assumes
The components-and-cladding zones
The C&C procedures read a list of zones, one per row: the figure, the zone and the effective wind area A. The two procedures that use the tornado coefficients also read whether the zone is a roof uplift case and whether the roof slope is 7° or less, which select KvT from Table 32.14-1. A row you leave completely blank is not used; a row with anything in it is a zone, and the engine refuses it by name if a value it needs is missing. A velocity-pressure or MWFRS run needs no rows at all.

2 · Solution
No solution yet — choose a procedure in the card above, enter the parameters it needs and press Compute the wind load. This card stays empty until a solution is computed, and it is emptied again the moment any input changes, so a displayed solution always belongs to the inputs on screen.
