Beam Shear

1 · Input data

One-way shear (stirrup) design check of a rectangular, nonprestressed, cast-in-place beam to ACI CODE-318-25 (procedure ENG-2026-10-027): the section and its effective depth, the materials, the factored shear and the uniform load, the critical section of 9.4.3.2, the axial force, the full longitudinal steel As from the flexural design, the exposure, the bars, the number of stirrup legs and the spacing. The page computes the concrete contribution Vc from the revised Table 22.5.5.1 — including the size effect row (c) that applies whenever the provided Av is below Av,min — decides whether shear reinforcement is required, sizes the stirrups, and checks the spacing, the cross-section limit of 22.5.1.2 and the detailing. Every parameter below is required. Press Solve the beam shear check when the card is complete — if anything is missing or malformed the page opens a pop-up naming each parameter and computes nothing; an input that is well-formed but outside the procedure is refused with the clause that refuses it.

2 · Solution

No solution yet — complete every input in the card above and press Solve the beam shear check. This card stays empty until a solution is computed, and it is emptied again the moment any input changes, so a displayed solution always belongs to the inputs on screen.
